Understanding Gift Aid
For every £1 you kindly donate to us, we can claim back 25p more through the Gift Aid Scheme, significantly increasing the value of your donation at no extra cost to you. Gift Aid is a UK government initiative that allows charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers.
If you’re a UK taxpayer and pay income or capital gains tax, we can claim Gift Aid on your donation—at no extra cost to you. This means your gift could go even further to support our work.
Please note: If you do not pay UK income or capital gains tax, we won’t be able to claim Gift Aid, and you should avoid completing a Gift Aid declaration.

VOLUNTEER WITH US
We’re always on the lookout for new volunteers for The Starfish Way programmes.
When you become a volunteer you will receive all of the required training and qualifications needed to be able to lead our teams of young people to success.

FUNDRAISE FOR US
There are many ways that you can fundraise to support the work we do. You can fundraise as an individual, as a business or community group or in your school.
Fundraising ideas for individuals:
Consider making a one-off or regular donation via our Just Giving page or by setting up a bank transfer. You could consider doing a personal challenge or taking part in a sporting challenge or event to raise funds for us.
Fundraising ideas for businesses:
We are always looking to engage with local businesses and employers. You could consider us as your ‘charity of the year’ or organise a fundraising event in aid of The Starfish Way.
Fundraising ideas for community groups:
Are you a member of a club, church group or sports team? It might be that we’ve worked with your group in the past and you want to give something back. Your group could consider an organised fundraising event such as a bag pack, bake sale, bring and buy sale, silent auction, dinner dance or whatever fun or crazy ideas you can come up with! We are grateful for your support.
Fundraising ideas for schools:
There are many fun ways to raise funds for a good cause at school, such as dress down days or sponsored activities. Some schools take part in the Youth Philanthropy Initiative (YPI) which you could consider The Starfish Way for. Contact admin@thestarfishway.co.uk to find out how we could support your YPI project.
PAYROLL GIVING
What is payroll giving?
Payroll giving allows employees to give to charity directly from their pay before it is taxed. This reduces the amount of tax they pay and means they can afford to give more.
Employers sign up to a Payroll Giving Scheme, such as CAF Give As You Earn. Employees choose charities to give to and send their donations to those organisations each month.
